Blizzard Entertainment has revealed some new information about pets in Hearthstone. The game’s first collectible pet is a mini version of King Krush. However, this companion won’t exactly be charging face. Obtaining Hearthstone pets also involves a gacha pull system.

What are pets in Hearthstone?
In Hearthstone, pets are new companions that appear on the left side of the board. Your chosen pet reacts to your gameplay during matches. For example, your pet might cry when you take lots of damage or wag its tail when you attack enemies.
Hearthstone pets also mimic the emotes you use during a match in Standard, Battlegrounds, Arena, and Practice mode. When you greet your opponent, for example, your pet can do a little wave.
After completing a match, your pet lightens the mood regardless of whether you win or lose.

Can you pet your Hearthstone pet?
Yes. According to Blizzard Entertainment, you can indeed give attention to your chosen pet in Hearthstone. The King Krush pet can wag its tail and growl from too much petting, however. Therefore, you can mix things up by feeding your pet and playing with it using an interactive toy.

Hearthstone pet skins
By playing the card game and interacting with your pet, you can even level it up and unlock new skins. Each pet gains experience in unique ways based on what happens in matches. King Krush, for example, loves Rush cards.
King Krush’s starting skin is Classic Krush. Leveling him up grants you the Devilsaur Krush, Crystal Krush, and King Plush variants.

How to unlock Hearthstone pets
To get pets in Hearthstone, you must pull for them. This is similar to gacha games. According to Blizzard Entertainment, you must visit the Darkmoon Faire Treasures area whenever that feature is available, press a button using the paid Runestones currency, and obtain a random item from the prize pool. There are 10 items in total whenever the Darkmoon Faire is available in the tavern. Note that each additional pull costs more. You also won’t get duplicates.
The first-ever Darkmoon Faire Treasures event runs from July 8 at 10 a.m. PT to July 29 at 10 a.m. PT. It’s possible to get King Krush during this one, and the first pull is free.

The chance of getting the King Krush pet is 0.1000% on your very first pull, according to Blizzard Entertainment. Darkmoon Faire Treasures uses a weight system to decide the chances of each reward as well. When an item is pulled, its weight drops to 0 and it can no longer be received. The chance of getting a specific item is its weight divided by the total remaining weights multiplied by 100.
