New Overwatch 2 season, new mythics! Season 17 just launched with two mythic skins instead of one. These include the Horang D.Va mythic hero skin and the Steal Death Reaper mythic weapon. Read on for all of Reaper’s mythic weapon customizations plus the details on how to unlock them.

Overwatch 2 Season 17 mythic skin: Steal Death Reaper
Reaper’s mythic weapon arrived in Overwatch at the start of Season 17 on June 24, 2025. Prior to this release date, Blizzard Entertainment teased it in some concept art during a livestream. Now, with the weapon skin finally here, we can preview and test it out before making a purchase.
- Level 1: Brutal, sharp, soulfire-infused shotguns built for lethal precision.
- Level 2: Weapons flare with dark energy as you deal damage.
- Level 3: Intricate glowing details surround your shotguns.
- Level 4: Finish foes with haunting swirled shadows and sound effects that embody Reaper’s fury.

How to unlock the Reaper mythic weapon skin in Overwatch 2
To add this mythic weapon skin to your collection, you must first visit the Mythic Shop in Overwatch 2. Then, you can exchange 50 Mythic Prisms for the base skin. Subsequent effects require 10 Mythic Prisms each, which means getting all of the Steal Death effects and customizations requires 80 Mythic Prisms in total.
In Overwatch 2, Mythic Prisms refer to a premium currency that can be either bought on its own or obtained through the paid version of the Battle Pass. Similar to the past, the paid Season 17 Battle Pass lets you earn up to 80 Mythic Prisms. Therefore, you can slowly work your way toward all of Reaper’s mythic weapon customizations.
If you already have some Mythic Prisms saved up like us, then you can purchase all of the effects immediately. Another option is to buy the Complete Reaper Mythic Weapon Skin Bundle via the in-game shop.
